Introduction The current evolving issues of today is the internet, it has been one of the most exciting major events in the second half of the 20th century. The ancient vision and dream of academicians and students in the past that knowing all things happening in the world can be achieve without venturing outdoors has become a reality. For 26 year, the Internet in progress takes off. Furthermore, the internet has spread to more than 180 countries and regions, linking more than 600,000 domestic networks of various types, hooking up more than 20 million computers accessible to 120 million users approximately two percent of the entire global population. (1). As well the wide distribution of computers which are used in the process of communication is the reason behind this (2‏).There is variety in kinds of information on the internet, it helps the students to communicate with each other most of the time, find information in many fields, sports ,education, public policy to entertainment etc, those who are connected to the internet strongly can quickly search and find whatever they need and all they should know ( 3). Internet contains the largest resource of information in the whole world; second, it enables people get hold of an interactive mechanism to instantaneously communicate with each other. Inattentiveness the information on the internet is so rich that no one can tell what is really out there. Furthermore, the internet information resources are continuously expanding at a great speed—one can only make a rough estimate. The types of information on the internet are also widespread from scientific research, education, public policy, legal regulations to commerce, arts, entertainment etc. to include the whole thing. For all those connected with the internet, they can quickly put onto the internet all they want announced or all they think others should know about (4). However, due to its innate transnational, decentralized, open and unfettered nature, the internet as a free, open and anarchic device has brought various countries great risks as well as opportunities. Even as it provides massive convenience and stimulates the economy to additional development (5). Nowadays, the internet is regarded as the major information base and it has become an integral part of our lives. Not only can we access huge amount of data on the internet, but we can also use the internet as a channel of communication. Emails and instant messages have made online contact possible. Social networking websites and online discussion forums have proved being popular platforms term. On the other hand, there is a price to pay for this easy access to such enormous amounts of information and data there are a number of psychological implications, with the growing use of internet (6-7). The researchers are trying to identify what are the impacts of heavy internet usage specially for the students and the negative result of increasing used of the internet (8). The growing use of the internet, we can also note more negative impacts. Some of them can be listed in the following lines. Limited Knowledge: with the increasing use of Internet for research purposes, has been declining and the usage of the actual references or the books reflected a low turnout. Nonetheless, the information available on the internet is limited and mostly pertains to developed nations; as a result, the knowledge obtained is limited. Since information about developing nations is scarce. He added that, more common negative impacts include, Isolation: Due to spending countless hours on the internet (9). Moreover, Feeling of Deprivation: Since most of the information available online is about the developed nations, the people in developing countries; Distorted Sense of Reality, can result in identity confusion. And online, a person’s identity is concealed and therefore people act like them and have no inhibitions saying how they feel. As a result, racist, sexist people have made hate sites, and this is a growing problem (10-11). Furthermore, we can list some of these negative impacts as following: social and psychology effects such as felling of deprivation, weakness family ties and weak interaction with relatives and missing actual life interaction (12)‏. Exposure to Violence: With the growing use of the internet by youth, there is an increase in online games. These games are very violent and expose to explicit content and violent situations thus desensitizing the youth and making them more prone to inflicting self harm, as well as harm on others as the first negative impact (13). Secondly ethic impacts now –a-days individuals are getting hacker on the internet such as on pornography, internet gambling. Thirdly culture impacts, a person s identity is concealed and therefore people act like them and have no inhibitions saying how they feel (14). Lastly, the negative impact of always in front of their computer screens brought the hazard of affecting their health status. Furthermore, their attitude of always using the social medias mode of sending message (chatting) which leads to redness in their eyes and a feeling of severe exhaustion, brings a negative effect towards their studies and their way of life. Moreover, putting themselves into risk for internet addiction. ( 15).Significance of the study This study will shed light on how to develop a concrete solution in addressing the current issues. Hence, few researches have been carried out in KSA for developing solution that deal with the negative impact of using internet. This is to awaken the importance of giving emphasis on the future of all nations in addressing the issue of internet usage among our millennials. As their use of the internet increases with no stopping developments, they seriously need to be directed to the negative impacts of using the internet. Numerous studies over the years have pointed out that internet have been a negative impact on students. It is in this cause that this paper is given importance to determine the main negative impacts of the internet. Thus, a solution will be address to determine internet addiction or the risk of prolonged used of the internet among our students. Aim of this study The aim of this study is to develop solutions to deal with negative impacts of using internet among nursing students at a government university. To fulfill this, aim the following research objectives were formulated to:1-Assess nursing students’ perceptions about negative impacts of using internet.2- Assess the ranking of negative impacts of using internet.3- develop and validate the required solutions to deal with the negative impacts of using the internet.Research questions:1. What is the nursing students’ perception of the negative impacts of using internet in Shaqra University?2. What is ranking of negative impacts of using internet.3. What are solutions required to deal with negative impacts of using internet.4. Are there differences among students in terms of estimating the negative impacts of using the internet, in accordance with study variables including age, gender, level of education, and number of hours using the internet per week?The study design: The researchers applied the descriptive methodological design to achieve the study objectives. It aimed to develop and validate solutions to deal with negative impacts of using internet.Ethical considerations Managerial arrangements and official permission were obtained from deans of college of applied medical sciences in Shaqra University, KSA to select the samples, to conduct the study and to collect the data. The researchers explained the aim ofthe study to the respondents.Sample and Setting: A convenience sample of 185 undergraduate male and female nursing students. Jury committee sample (30 experts). The current study was conducted in the settings, the college of applied medical sciences in Shaqra University, KSA included Al-Quawayiyah, Al-Dawadmy and Shaqra Provence during October 2017-2018. The purpose of this study is to assess students’ perception of the negative impacts of using internet at a government university. The frame of reference is divided into health, economical, social and psychological, cultural and ethical impacts. The findings of the present study reveal that health impacts have the first level of negative impacts of using Internet followed by economical impacts in the second level and cultural in the third level. Conversely, the fifth level about ethical impacts. Students feel health impacts more than other impacts and due to Islamic culture of K.S.A. The present study finding agreed with that of Abdul-fatth, (19) confirmed in his study that 89% of the internet users were exposed to different problems. In addition, Halaby, (20) who confirmed in his study the existence of risks due to the usage of the internet. This is opposed with Diomidous, (21) who reported that the highest mean score related to social and psychological and health impacts on fourth level. The findings of the present study revealed that the highest mean of health impacts came for item number (1) which states:” My eyes are affected due to prolonged internet usage. And the least mean came for item number (4) which states:” I eat small amounts of food because I am surfing the internet”, this is due to the youth prolonged sittings on the internet. Hours go while they keep chatting leading to redness in their eyes and feeling exhausted. That is because of unhealthy light and inefficient computer screens. These findings were in the same line as those reported by Muflih et al (22) who confirmed that visual stress come as a result of computer radiations and those who spend more than two hours daily using the internet can easily capture eye diseases, concentration difficulties, headache and body fatigue. Additionally, Rabea, (23) showed that prolonged usage of the internet leads to great potential for addiction. Regarding, the highest mean of economic impacts came for item number (7) which states:” Professional hackers may have the ability to destroy banks and ministries websites “. And the least mean came for item number (2) which states:” young people enter the internet frequently for gambling”. This is due to different advertisements that the users of the internet watch during browsing which increases their buying desire as well as finance burdens because of the Internet.
