They operate on an international scope as they have stores and offices worldwide, and are classed as a large business as they have over 250 employees. It was founded on 25th January 1964.Nike’s mission statement is: “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world.”This mission statement is very unrealistic as it is virtually impossible to access every athlete in the world, however it could be seen as very optimistic and Nike is in the private sector because it is not run by the Government. Private sector means that an organisation is run by individuals rather than the government. Mark Parker is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nike since January 2006, the co-founder and chairman Phil Knight formed a limited-liability company in 2015 to hold 128.5 million shares of his shares of Nike. This is one of Nike’s main objectives; to make profit for shareholders.Nike’s organisational structure is seen to be one of the best in the world; they use a matrix structure.
