In my background, some freshman learners tend to be lacking and take information without much critical analysis. I have been explore with plan for teaching the main skills of critical thinking, and I would like to read about other educators’ backgrounds in this area. There are main approaches that I would generally recommend, such as encouraging students to discuss the contents of lectures with each other, and others I would not, such as asking each student to stand up in turn and answer a question, but even then what works is conditioned by culture, what the students expect, etc. Educator using what I might consider “boring”” or outmoded plan will succeed if they have the trust of their students
